This week's elementary staff spotlight was Rebecca Brooks. In the library, there are books, and also Ms. Brooks. She inspires our students to wonder and imagination, as well as helps support them with our SEL curriculum CharacterStrong. In the library, Rebecca also gives students opportunities to be creative with crafts and art. Rebecca is reliable, dedicated, and flexible to support students in our school. Cindy Jones and Lexi Lyons are in the Secondary Spotlight this week. They are both outstanding administrative assistants that work in the high school office. This is just a reminder that next week is parent/teacher conferences on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. You should have a scheduled time already set with your child's advisor. On Wednesday evening from 5:30-6:30 we will have arena conferencing in the cafeteria. This is a time where you can meet with any of the teachers. School is released at 12:00 Tuesday-Friday. Congratulations to Shayne Arrington who is our secondary staff spotlight this week. Shayne is a former student and athlete who was very involved in school. Shayne teaches high school geometry, algebra 2, and college in the high school pre-calculus class. She was also a coach prior to her two twins being born. Our ASB Leadership chose Shayne because she is nice, always willing to help, and funny! Congratulations Shayne! Thanks for all you do!

We would like to recognize our high school FCCLA teacher and advisor Crystal West in recognition of National FCCLA Week. Crystal teaches Family Consumer Science, Independent Living, Digitools, and Office User classes to JH and HS students. These are all CTE classes. She also leads a very active FCCLA club. They are famous for their “coffee cart” every Friday for students and staff. Her club is also active within the school and community serving refreshments at the college & career night and lunch for our Veterans’ to name a few. We appreciate all she does for everyone and her dedication to the Mossyrock School District. Congratulations Crystal!

Tomorrow, 2/14 the elementary building K-5th grade only will participate in a off campus evacuation drill. The purpose of the drill is to maintain and improve on safety procedures for the whole district. During this drill we will transport these students off campus to further improve and evaluate our safety procedures. We don't anticipate this drill lasting longer than an hour and these students will be resuming school after the drill.
